Full Job Description Job Title:
Grade Checker / Operator Company Overview We are a growing paving and grading construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality site development and paving projects. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Operator / Grade Checker to join our team and contribute to the successful completion of our projects. Position Summary The Grade Checker is responsible for operating heavy equipment and ensuring grading work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and established elevations. This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of construction grading practices, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment as needed. Check grades, elevations, and slopes using lasers, levels, and other surveying equipment. Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes. Assist foremen and project managers in maintaining accurate grade control throughout the project. Perform site preparation, excavation, fine grading, and paving support activities. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Maintain a clean and organized job site. Work collaboratively with crew members to meet production schedules and project deadlines. Qualifications Previous experience in grading, paving, earthwork, or heavy civil construction. Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and construction drawings. Experience operating heavy equipment preferred. Familiarity with grade-checking equipment is a plus. Strong understanding of construction safety practices. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong work ethic, dependability, and teamwork skills.
