San Diego Job Summary The Asphalt Foreman is responsible for managing and directing asphalt paving crews on construction projects to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient operations. The Foreman ensures that all work meets project specifications and is completed on time and within budget. This hands-on role provides leadership in the field and is critical to the daily success of paving operations. Key Responsibilities Crew Supervision

• Lead, train, and supervise field crew members during paving operations.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure productivity standards are met.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful work environment. Project Execution
• Interpret job specifications, site plans, and layouts to execute the work as designed.
• Operate and oversee the operation of paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, and skid steers.
• Ensure proper setup and breakdown of job sites.
• Coordinate trucking, asphalt delivery, and materials handling on site. Quality & Safety
• Monitor work quality, paving temperature, compaction, and surface finish.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure crew compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Identify and address potential hazards or problems promptly. Communication & Reporting
• Report progress, delays, and issues to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
• Keep accurate records of labor, equipment, and materials used.
• Communicate clearly with team members, inspectors, and subcontractors. Qualifications Education & Experience
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 7+ years of asphalt paving experience, including crew leadership. Skills & Competencies
• Knowledge of asphalt paving processes, equipment, and job site safety.
• Proficient at operating Paver, Roller, & Skid Steer.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines. Working Conditions
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and operate machinery for extended periods.
• May require night or weekend work depending on project needs. Compensation & Benefits
