Job Summary Performs either rough or fine grade finishing, precisely spreading and mixing materials to dry and prep roads, Parking lots, construct road surface and to precise grade specifications, lay cold mix, and/or shave and rip out old road surfaces.Duties and Responsibilities :
Operate the grader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret all civil details, plans, and drawings. Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required. Ability to Finish Base to a ¼" tolerance, must possess the ability to finish different base courses such as lime rock, crushed concrete, shell, and soil cement. Understand how to calculate percentages of fall on roadways and parking lots.Requirements:
Qualifications:
Knowledge of grader and other heavy equipment. Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes, and industry requirements. Understanding of computerized controls and electronics. Excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination. Must have Strong communication skills with employees and inspectors. Have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines. Multi-task and set priorities effectively. 5 years' experience in like position. Must be accustomed to working in an outdoor setting which could include inclement weather, heat & humidity, and exposure to dust, dirt, and asphalt. Must be able to perform physical activities that require bending, lifting (up to 40lbs), squatting, walking, and handling of materials. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
