Mission Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an experienced individual for the position of Asphalt Paver Screed Operator based out of our Savannah, GA location. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Asphalt Paver Screed Operator's primary function is to adjust the screed height on the paving machine to ensure proper depth, grade and finish. The Asphalt Paver Screed Operator is also responsible for ensuring the consistency of the asphalt mat and the overall ride quality of the finished pavement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This includes, but is not limited to the following: Needs to have the ability to correctly set up paver screed, lay a uniform thickness. An accurate and working knowledge of the paver screed (ex. correct speed, check on material coming out of truck, straight lines) The ability to take a leadership role on the crew The willingness and ability to keep paver and screed maintained and clean The willingness to work nights and weekends The ability to operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
