Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including cleaning, grading, and layout. Load, unload, and transport asphalt and construction materials to and from the site. Spread, rake, and level asphalt to meet specifications using hand tools. Operate basic equipment such as rollers, tampers, and shovels as directed. Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition. Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met. Perform other related duties as assigned by the foreman or supervisor.

Qualifications:

Valid driver's license (Class A CDL is highly desirable). Prior experience in the asphalt paving industry (highly preferred). A positive attitude and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment. Experience operating small machinery or hand tools, such as rakes, shovels, rollers, tampers, or paving machines. Familiarity with asphalt handling, paving techniques, and proper compaction practices. Previous work in physically demanding environments, such as lifting heavy materials, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and standing for long periods. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and extended hours when needed. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to safety.
