Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic construction team as an Asphalt Laborer and become a vital part of creating durable, high-quality roadways and pavements. This energetic role offers hands-on experience in asphalt paving and heavy equipment operation, providing a rewarding opportunity to contribute to infrastructure projects. Whether working on new construction sites or maintaining existing roads, you'll be engaged in physically demanding tasks that keep our communities moving forward. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites for asphalt paving projects, including site clearing and grading. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to move materials and prepare surfaces efficiently. Support asphalt paving operations by assisting with the placement and compaction of asphalt materials to ensure smooth, durable surfaces. Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins, preventing damage and ensuring safety. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by managing tools, equipment, and materials on-site. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment for yourself and your team. Assist with other construction-related tasks as needed to support project timelines and quality standards. Qualifications Previous experience in construction or paving projects is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks is highly desirable. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of construction site safety practices and the ability to adhere strictly to safety guidelines. Basic understanding of utility locating techniques and equipment use. Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude and reliable work ethic. Experience with Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy equipment brands is a plus.
