Asphalt operator/raker Webster, MA 01570 From $28 an hour - Full-time From $28 an hour - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Asphalt Paver Operator/Roller operator/Raker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy paving equipment to lay asphalt surfaces efficiently and accurately, ensuring high-quality results on various paving projects. Your expertise will help us deliver durable, smooth pavements that meet project specifications and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and construction experience to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects. Duties Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy equipment with precision, including loader operation and excavators, to lay asphalt according to project plans. Set up and calibrate paving machinery, ensuring proper alignment, slope, and compaction for optimal surface quality. Coordinate with crew members to manage material delivery, including concrete mixers, concrete pumping systems, and dump trucks. Assist with rebar installation and concrete forming tasks as needed to prepare surfaces for paving. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure safe operation throughout the shift. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including paving progress, material usage, and safety checks. Follow all safety protocols and construction site regulations to promote a secure working environment for everyone involved. Skills Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and perform basic maintenance. Familiarity with concrete finishing techniques, rebar installation, and concrete forming processes. Ability to work efficiently on construction sites while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards. Knowledge of construction site operations, including the use of commercial vehicles and adherence to traffic safety protocols. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for operating large vehicles required on-site.
