Equipment Operator (Asphalt Paving)

Job Description:

J&B Asphalt, a leading asphalt maintenance and paving company, is looking for a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating asphalt pavers and/or skid steers , with a focus on milling and grading . As a key member of our crew, you'll ensure that paving operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely on job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate paving equipment , including pavers and skid steers , to perform various asphalt paving and milling tasks. Perform milling and grading operations using skid steer loaders as required to prepare surfaces for paving. Assist with setting up and preparing equipment and materials at the start of each project. Ensure proper site grading, placement and compaction of asphalt to achieve high-quality paving results. Conduct routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and safely. Work closely with crew members to ensure project completion within scheduled timeframes. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues as needed. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to keep projects on track.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating s kid steers, track loaders, screed Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Class A CDL is a huge Plus Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments. Strong team player with a good work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in the asphalt paving industry. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, equipment operation certifications) are a plus.
