Paving Superintendent

Job Summary Are you an experienced paving professional who enjoys leading teams and delivering high-quality work? As a Paving Superintendent, you'll oversee daily asphalt paving operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate crews, manage resources, and play a key part in building strong, successful projects. Main Responsibilities Plan and oversee daily paving operations, including placement, rolling, and finishing Lead paving crews, foremen, and equipment operators to maximize productivity Coordinate asphalt, aggregate, and material deliveries with plant and logistics teams Monitor production rates, sequencing, and quality to meet schedule and budget goals Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks, and daily safety inspections Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards Address and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately Partner with Project Managers to execute project plans and schedules Track and communicate daily progress, production, and any issues Maintain accurate documentation, including reports and equipment tracking Mentor, train, and develop foremen and crew members Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in the field Skills Strong leadership and team management abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to make quick, effective decisions in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail Effective time management and ability to handle multiple priorities Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence Physical / Work Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Active, hands-on role requiring standing, walking, and movement throughout the job site Travel required throughout the Mid‑West Central Region Valid driver's license required

Qualifications Required:

5+ years of experience in asphalt paving, including leadership or supervisory roles Strong knowledge of paving methods, equipment, and materials Proven ability to lead crews and manage multiple work activities Solid understanding of construction safety practices

Preferred:

$101,000.00 - $152,000.00 per year
