Asphalt Paver Operator:

Safely runs paving machines to spread and level hot asphalt for roads, parking lots, and driveways, ensuring smooth, even surfaces at the correct thickness, requiring coordination with trucks and crew, performing daily equipment checks, and basic maintenance while working outdoors in varied conditions. Key duties include controlling the paver's speed, direction, and screed (for width/depth), maintaining material flow, and ensuring quality application for durable pavement.

Key Responsibilities Operation:

Skillfully operate the asphalt paver, controlling screed, auger, hopper, and direction.

Material Handling:

Maintain constant asphalt flow, align with dump trucks, and adjust for even distribution.

Quality Control:

Monitor grade, thickness, and smoothness, adjusting the screed to eliminate voids and achieve desired specifications.

Maintenance:

Perform pre-shift safety checks, fluid checks, lubrication, and minor repairs; keep water systems and scrapers clean.

Coordination:

Communicate with screed operators, truck drivers, and other crew members for efficient workflow.

Safety:

Adhere to all safety procedures, watch for obstructions, and ensure safe operation of heavy equipment. Essential Skills & Qualifications Experience operating asphalt paving equipment. Knowledge of paving techniques and materials. Ability to read blueprints and work with gauges/levels. Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork. Physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather. Basic mechanical aptitude for minor maintenance. Additional Details
