Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites for asphalt paving, including site cleanup and material handling Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, graders, dozers, and front loader trucks to move materials and prepare surfaces Support paving operations by spreading asphalt and ensuring proper compaction for durable surfaces Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving work begins Maintain safety standards by following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to quality standards Conduct routine inspections of equipment like dump trucks and Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety Experience Prior experience working on construction sites or in heavy equipment operation is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates Familiarity with construction tools and machinery such as loaders, graders, dozers, backhoes, and dump trucks is advantageous Knowledge of paving processes and construction site safety procedures is a plus Ability to operate Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery confidently is desirable Basic understanding of utility locating techniques and underground utility systems is beneficial This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in asphalt paving and heavy equipment operation within a supportive team environment.
