This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring quality asphalt placement, maintaining production schedules, promoting a strong safety culture, and delivering projects that meet budget, quality, and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of asphalt paving crews. Ensure paving equipment is set up and operated correctly for quality asphalt placement. Monitor project progress to maintain production schedules and budget objectives. Calculate daily production budgets based on crew size and equipment utilization. Utilize software to report employee time, production quantities, and daily activities. Perform quality control inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications. Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, operations personnel, asphalt plants, trucking providers, and field crews. Continuously evaluate production costs, yields, materials, schedules, staffing, equipment utilization, and quality performance. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, inspectors, engineers, and the public. Lead daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks while enforcing all safety requirements. Train, mentor, and develop crew members. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge Comprehensive knowledge of asphalt paving operations and field supervision. Working knowledge of asphalt mix design, quality control, and production methods. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents. Experience using field reporting software and computer applications. Knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and operational best practices. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three years of asphalt paving leadership or foreman experience. Strong knowledge of asphalt paving equipment, construction methods, and quality standards. Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as project needs require. Willingness to travel and work away from home as project requirements dictate.
