Job Description
Asphalt Laborer Reporting to the Foreman this crew member essential to application of asphalt on highways/private roadways/parking lots/driveways using handheld tools. Must partner with other crew members to pave roadways per plan specifications and if need be, to perform tasks of other positions as instructed by crew foreman to insure daily schedules/estimates are met. Contributes to the Team effort for success by working wherever they are needed when they are available. Responsibilities
- Shoveling (dirt, asphalt or stone) and sweeping associated with heavy highway construction.
- May be required to use power and/or hand tools needed to complete jobs within specifications.
- Must be able to adapt and work in extreme weather temperatures.
- Complete all daily, weekly and monthly tasks
- Able to patch prior asphalt that is in place
- Follow up on everyone on the crew to insure they are doing their jobs, taking their breaks when possible, and being a productive worker
- Physical Presence Required

- Regular Attendance
- Communicate only essential information required outside of the office and field, and maintain complete confidentiality on all V.K. Knowlton Inc. data Duties
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
- Must have a valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle.
