In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating paving equipment to lay asphalt and concrete surfaces efficiently and safely. Your expertise in construction machinery, paving techniques, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure high-quality results on various construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to infrastructure development while working with a dynamic team dedicated to excellence. Duties Operate asphalt pavers, screeds, and other paving equipment to lay asphalt and concrete surfaces according to project specifications. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of paving machinery, including concrete mixers, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks, ensuring optimal performance. Assist with the preparation of construction sites by managing materials such as bituminous materials and concrete, ensuring proper placement and compaction. Follow safety protocols and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations diligently to maintain a safe work environment for all team members. Coordinate with other construction personnel, including concrete pumping teams and form workers, to ensure smooth workflow on site. Perform basic math calculations related to measurements, quantities, and material requirements for paving projects. Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, equipment usage, and safety compliance records. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, screeds, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks in a civil infrastructure setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot machinery issues. Familiarity with working on construction projects involving asphalt paving, concrete forming, concrete pumping, and material handling. Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and construction site safety protocols. Ability to work efficiently on construction sites with a focus on quality workmanship and safety adherence. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent certification for operating commercial vehicles required or preferred. Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating project requirements. Experience working with bituminous materials, concrete mixtures, and construction site logistics is highly desirable.
