Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Grader Operator is responsible for operating a motor grader to spread, level, and smooth base materials and asphalt in preparation for paving and road construction projects. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate motor graders to establish proper road grade and slope for paving projects. Fine grade surfaces in preparation for asphalt paving or other materials. Read and interpret blueprints, survey stakes, and grade sheets. Perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections. Collaborate with the crew to ensure the job site is safe and productive. Follow all safety procedures and company protocols. Communicate with the foreman and project managers regarding site progress or issues.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience operating a motor grader in an asphalt, road construction, or grading environment. Ability to fine grade to within 1/10th of an inch with minimal supervision. Knowledge of GPS grading systems is a plus. Must have a valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team.
