In this vital role, you will operate paving equipment to lay asphalt surfaces efficiently and accurately, ensuring high-quality results for roadways, parking lots, and other paved projects. Your expertise in heavy machinery operation, materials handling, and safety protocols will drive successful project completion while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects and advance your career in construction. Duties Operate asphalt paving equipment, including screeds and pavers, to lay asphalt surfaces according to project specifications and safety standards Perform routine maintenance and inspections on paving machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance Manage the distribution of bituminous materials using loaders, dump trucks, and concrete mixers for continuous paving operations Coordinate with crew members to ensure proper placement of concrete, concrete pumping, and forming as needed for complex paving projects Adhere to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols throughout all phases of construction Assist with the setup of construction sites, including preparing the area for paving by managing excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment Maintain accurate records of materials used, equipment maintenance logs, and safety inspections Skills Extensive knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and operation of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and paving machines Strong understanding of bituminous materials, concrete work, screeds, concrete forming, and concrete pumping techniques Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, material quantities, and project specifications Familiarity with safety regulations including OSHA standards and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements for construction sites Experience working on civil infrastructure projects involving asphalt paving, concrete installation, and site preparation Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery troubleshooting and repairs Proven ability to operate commercial trucks safely while adhering to commercial vehicle regulations Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety protocol adherence in fast-paced environments Working knowledge of construction site procedures including concrete mixing, concrete pumping, and equipment maintenance Join our team if you're passionate about building durable infrastructure!
