In this energetic position, you will operate and maintain paving equipment, ensuring smooth asphalt surfaces for roads, parking lots, and other civil infrastructure projects. Your expertise in heavy machinery operation combined with a keen eye for safety will help us build durable, reliable pavements that stand the test of time. This role offers a chance to work on diverse construction sites, collaborate with skilled professionals, and contribute to impactful projects that shape our communities. Duties Operate asphalt pavers and paving equipment with precision to ensure even, high-quality surfaces according to project specifications. Maintain and troubleshoot paving machinery, including screeds, concrete mixers, and asphalt pavers, to optimize performance and safety. Assist with the preparation of construction sites by coordinating with crew members on rebar installation, concrete forming, and site layout. Conduct routine safety checks on equipment to adhere to safety regulations and prevent accidents on site. Support the delivery of bituminous materials and concrete by coordinating with commercial trucks and loaders for efficient material handling. Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols during all phases of asphalt paving and heavy equipment operation. Perform basic math calculations for measurements, material quantities, and project adjustments to ensure accuracy throughout the paving process. Qualifications Proven experience operating paving equipment such as asphalt pavers, screeds, loaders, dump trucks, and concrete mixers in a construction environment. Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of safety regulations including OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and construction site safety protocols. Ability to work effectively on construction projects involving concrete finishing, concrete pumping, rebar installation, and other civil infrastructure tasks. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or experience with commercial vehicle operation preferred for transporting materials or equipment. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to paving projects, and material estimations. Experience working on construction sites with heavy equipment operation such as loaders and dump trucks in a civil infrastructure setting.
