Job Description

The Position:
The Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for directing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the company to ensure the successful delivery of full-service pavement management solutions. This individual will provide strategic oversight, drive operational efficiency, and lead cross-functional teams to meet company goals related to safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. As a member of the leadership team, the Operations Manager will play a critical role in shaping processes, developing talent, and supporting the company's continued growth.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, direction, and performance management for field crews, including hiring, training, coaching, and development. Oversee and manage all phases of asphalt paving, sealcoating, and striping projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives for quality, assisting in scheduling Establish daily operational priorities and ensure effective execution of work plans across crews and job sites. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and purchase orders before the start of the project Drive operational planning, resource allocation, and equipment repairs and maintenance to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Monitor project performance, analyze results, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and profitability. Build and help maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to support long-term business success. Maintain a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to streamline operations and enhance service delivery. Support seasonal operations; equipment maintenance and updates, including snow removal, ensuring readiness and effective execution. Maintain oversight of shop and yard, ensuring organization, safety, and operational readiness.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving or related operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Proven ability to lead crews, manage multiple projects, and drive operational performance. Strong understanding of construction project management, including planning and execution. Ability to interpret project plans and specifications. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Valid driver's license required. Additional Responsibilities (as needed): Provide field support during peak workloads or complex projects. Assist with estimating, bidding, and project planning. Support traffic control planning and compliance as required.
