$20-22/HR Shifts:
Rotating, day to night, 12 hr shifts, 4 on, 3 off; physical demands are significant. Boiler Operator- Cordova, IL (Boiler Operator) is hiring a temporary Boiler Operator
- in Cordova, IL. Role Overview As a Boiler Operator
- Building Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining building systems—including boiler systems, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC—while ensuring compliance with safety codes, building regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn and become familiar with all processes associated with the plant. Learn and be able to operate Client (Computer Control System) for the plant. Learn startup, maintenance and shut down procedures for all physical plant units and utility systems. Responsible for operational and maintenance requirements of the physical plant equipment and utilities including but not limited to: water supply, T.O./ boiler, dryer system, reverse osmosis, CDI and other associated equipment. Responsible for water chemistry and the maintenance of water supply to the plant, boiler, cooling tower, reverse osmosis. Responsible for maintenance tasks as needed or assigned by the management staff or his designee. Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks. Perform additional duties as requested. Keep timely and accurate logs relevant to duties performed. Respond to collected data and make adjustments to optimize the equipment for which the boiler operator is responsible. Keep plant facilities clean. Responsible for notifying Supervisors of any equipment problems. Complete any and all tasks assigned by your Supervisor. Safe work practices are a condition of employment. Report any safety issues or problems to your Supervisor and Safety Coordinator immediately. Maintain a team environment with all other plant employeesQualifications & Experience Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma; 4-5 years of related experience.Certifications:
Universal CFC certification preferred; Boiler Operator license preferred.Skills:
Plumbing system maintenance, electrical equipment repair, HVAC system repair, hazardous waste disposal, CMMS, Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Teams, building code compliance, basic math, organizational skills.Experience:
Prior boiler operator experience preferred.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads (50 lbs or more)Work Environment Location:
Cordova, IL (on-site industrial facility).Work Type:
