(ASME), NBBI, or stationary engineer Position Overview The Utilities & Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for coordinating facility infrastructure projects, managing maintenance activities, and supporting the reliable operation of building utilities and critical facility systems. This position oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations, environmental requirements, and company procedures. The role works closely with maintenance, engineering, quality, operations, and outside service providers to maintain facility reliability, improve system performance, manage projects, and control operating costs. Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities & Infrastructure Support facility infrastructure projects, including building improvements, equipment installations, renovations, and expansions. Coordinate projects to ensure work meets technical specifications, safety requirements, timelines, and budget expectations. Review facility conditions and identify opportunities for improvements, repairs, and upgrades. Assist with facility inspections, audits, and compliance assessments. Develop and implement corrective actions when deficiencies are identified. Maintain required facility documentation, permits, certifications, and inspection records. Work with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure facility projects are completed with minimal disruption to operations. Utilities & Facilities Maintenance Coordinate and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for facility and utility systems. Monitor equipment reliability and identify potential issues before they result in downtime. Develop maintenance schedules and ensure work orders are completed accurately and on time. Track maintenance activities, equipment performance, and key performance indicators. Partner with maintenance and quality teams to ensure facility systems meet operational and regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot facility and utility issues and coordinate repairs when necessary. Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, procedures, and documentation. Project Management Manage assigned facility and infrastructure projects from initial planning through installation, commissioning, and completion. Define project requirements, timelines, resources, and deliverables. Coordinate contractors, vendors, maintenance personnel, and other stakeholders. Monitor project costs, schedules, and progress. Identify project risks and develop corrective actions to keep projects on track. Ensure completed projects meet applicable safety, technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Maintain project documentation, drawings, records, and closeout materials. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and other departments to ensure facility systems support business needs. Communicate project updates, maintenance concerns, and system performance to appropriate leadership. Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and facility performance. Team Leadership Coordinate daily activities of assigned maintenance personnel and contractors. Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to maintenance team members. Assist with training and development of employees. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees follow established procedures. Qualifications High school diploma, technical certification, or equivalent experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, facilities, or industrial maintenance. 2+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or facility maintenance. Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) preferred. Familiarity with cleanroom environments and protocols preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation. Basic computer skills and experience using CMMS/work-order systems . Boiler Technician Certification preferred. EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification preferred. Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment preferred. Forklift and/or aerial lift certification preferred. Familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, or industrial control systems preferred. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, and outside vendors.
