Job Description

This industry leading full service commercial HVAC, plumbing, and design-build energy solutions provider has seen every type of boiler. Their employees are their biggest asset, and they are seeking boiler technicians who have the expertise and the code-compliance knowledge to ensure that building owners have uninterrupted heating. Selected candidates must be non-union. Compensation is commensurate with experience, in the $42 - $68/hr. range.
Boiler Technician Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the troubleshooting, commissioning, repair and maintenance of commercial/industrial Boilers and associated equipment. The individual fulfilling this role will leverage their knowledge of boiler systems and components to provide service and maintenance, technical support, start-up and commissioning of a variety of different types of heating systems. Candidate shall possess working knowledge of both construction and service processes utilized in fulfillment of their field operations.
Boiler Technician Essential Functions:
Perform maintenance of commercial boilers and associated equipment including logging operations, adjusting combustion, annual service, rebuilding equipment, cleaning heat exchangers and proper lubrication Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to boilers, burners, combustion control systems, DA and surge tanks, pumps, valves, and actuators Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks Analyze boiler and combustion trend data to ensure optimal performance Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of equipment and components Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial and industrial boiler, burner, and combustion controls systems. Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call. Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and factory training. Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 6+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience High School Diploma or GED Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record Rotational Emergency Call Support as required Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
Commercial HVAC Industry Experience Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians. OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (company provides this training during onboarding process) Current first aid / CPR card
