A well-established production facility in Williamsport, PA . We are looking for a talented individual with a suitable background that wants to work in a dynamic, respectful, and collaborative environment.
Job Summary:
Operating, maintaining, and repairing boilers and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The operator will work under little or no direct supervision and may be solely responsible for boiler operation of his/her assigned shift.
Essential Duties:
Operate and maintain boilers to meet production demands within environmental guidelines Observes pressure, temperature and draft meters to verify specified operation of automatic combustion control systems Turns valves and adjusts controls to set proper fuel feed, draft, water level and steam pressure of the boilers. Observe boilers and auxiliary equipment to detect malfunctions and make the necessary adjustments or repairs. Maintain boiler operator check sheet, logs, and charts as required Assists visual inspection and testing of machinery and equipment Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, dept. heads or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine. Aides in dismantling defective machines/equipment and installs new or repaired parts in accordance with the prescribed preventative maintenance schedule. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery. Rebuilds gear boxes. Welding, fabricating, and pipefitting. Maintains boilers, wood waste system, and steam system equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, bearings, and related equipment. Repairs, paints and maintains physical structure of facility. Monitor and regulate vat discharge and pH. Install steam lines and related equipment. Work from simple drawings or notes to complete assigned tasks. Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent Prior welding experience preferred Mechanical knowledge required Able to climb heights
