Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger and Pressure Vessel Boilermaker / Bundle Builder / Hydro Test Technician Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Heat Exchanger Bundle Builder and Hydro Testing Technician to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, repair, and pressure testing of shell and tube heat exchanger bundles in accordance with ASME, TEMA, and customer specifications. This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical aptitude, precision craftsmanship, and a strong commitment to quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Assemble shell and tube heat exchanger bundles including tube loading, baffle installation, tie rod and spacer assembly, and tube-to-tubesheet rolling Perform tube expansion using pneumatic and hydraulic tube rollers to achieve specified wall reduction and leak-tight joints Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly procedures, and weld maps Bolt-up (including body flanges and nozzle flanges), torque and conduct hydrostatic pressure tests on completed bundles, shells and pressure vessels per ASME Section VIII, applicable codes, and customer test procedures Monitor, record, and document test pressures, hold times, and results using calibrated gauges and data sheets Identify and repair leaking tubes via re-rolling Ability to install tube plugs in instances of customer repair work Perform visual inspections of components prior to and during assembly, flagging non-conformances for engineering review Maintain test equipment including hydro pumps, manifolds, blinds, and instrumentation Follow all applicable safety procedures including pressure testing protocols, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements Coordinate with QC inspectors during witness hold points Qualifications 3+ years of experience in heat exchanger fabrication, bundle assembly, or industrial mechanical work Experience with tube rolling/expanding equipment and hydraulic test pumps Ability to read mechanical drawings, assembly details, and bill of materials Familiarity with common heat exchanger materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper alloys, and duplex stainless Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight dimensional and procedural tolerances Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods
