Job Description:
The Boiler Operator will be responsible for running and maintaining two boiler rooms. One room with a 900HP Cleaver Brooks Boiler and the other room with two 500HP Cleaver Brooks Boilers.Responsibilities:
A basic understanding of boiler and steam plant operations. Knowledge of boiler plants auxiliary equipment (Forced Draft fans, Boiler Feed pumps, instrument air compressors, deaerators, flash tanks, heat exchangers, and PRV stations). Knowledge of industrial water treatment programs, water testing, and equipment such as softeners, chemical feed pumps. Knowledge of distributed control systems (for boiler and plant control) and micro-controllers (for burner flame safety management). The ability to safely and properly use common tools. Ensure all machinery is maintained in the best condition possible. Maintaining proper steam pressure, water levels and pressure. Daily boiler blowdowns on boilers and water level controls. Trouble shooting boiler controls Preventative Maintenance Other duties as assignedJob Requirements:
- Must be able to take instruction by leads and management.
- Must pass forklift class and get certified.
- Work on week-ends to accomplish tasks needed for the department when the plant is not in operation
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Reliable, self-starter, attention to detail.
