Responsibilities Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute stone masonry work. Cut, shape, and install natural and manufactured stone materials with precision using hand tools and power tools. Build and install stone structures such as walls, facades, fireplaces, and decorative features in accordance with project specifications. Prepare surfaces by applying mortar, plastering, or other finishing techniques to ensure durability and aesthetic quality. Install reinforcement materials like rebar for structural support and perform concrete forming and finishing when required. Build masonry scaffolds safely to access work areas at various heights while adhering to all safety protocols. Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, and other tradespeople during renovation or restoration projects to ensure seamless integration of building elements. Skills Extensive experience in stone masonry with a strong understanding of concrete masonry techniques. Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting detailed construction plans and schematics. Skilled in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, as well as power tools including saws and drills. Knowledge of construction estimating processes to assist in project planning and material procurement. Ability to perform concrete finishing tasks like smoothing surfaces and applying sealants or caulking for weatherproofing. Experience with rebar installation, concrete forming, tile laying, stucco application, and metal stud framing is highly desirable. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation related to masonry work is a plus. Strong adherence to safety protocols on construction sites to prevent accidents and ensure team well-being. Capable of interpreting technical drawings accurately while following project specifications closely. Proven ability to work efficiently on construction sites during renovation or new build projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
