Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Manager leads plant quality initiatives, standards, and a KPI-driven environment. This customer-facing role resolves product issues, drives change, and mentors the quality team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESSupervision:
Hire, train, assign work, appraise performance, and discipline Quality Department employees.
Technical Support:
Represent the quality function alongside internal groups on manufacturing issues.
Controls & Systems:
Approve supplier/customer process controls; maintain sampling, APQP, PPAP, and IMDS.
Audits:
Manage, audit, and continuously improve TS16949 systems and procedures.
Liaison:
Act as direct plant contact for customer and supplier quality issues and visits.
Documentation:
Maintain quality documents, samples, launches, variance corrections, and warranty analyses.
Data Tracking:
Monitor and input information into customer scorecards and portals.
Safety:
Enforce safety devices, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, housekeeping, and immediate injury/near-miss reporting.
Compliance:
Ensure conformance to acceptable standards, customer specs, and
IATF/ISO
management systems.
Conduct:
Follow all company policies, values, mission, and assigned duties.
Education and ExperienceEducation:
Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred).
Experience:
10 years automotive manufacturing/engineering; 3-5 years managing plant quality teams.
Domain:
Automotive Tier 1, plant quality, KPIs, and change management.
Certifications:
ASQ, CQE, CQM, and OEM/industry standards compliance.
Processes:
Stamping, welding, and paint environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesTools:
8D, MSA, APQP, PPAP, GD&T, print reading, gage design, and lab management.
Focus:
Scrap, rework, and sorting cost reduction.
Systems:
SAP and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Core Skills:
Root-cause analysis, corrective action, independent judgment, and team leadership.
