Job Description

Working Foreman — Masonry, Chimney Repair & Installation We are seeking a skilled, dependable Working Foreman with hands-on masonry experience, strong leadership ability, and solid basic computer skills. This is a field leadership position for someone who can both perform the work and lead a crew . The right candidate will have experience with brick and stone repair, be comfortable working at height, and be capable of keeping jobs organized, safe, and moving efficiently. This position focuses primarily on brick, block, and stone repair , with some new construction. The role also includes installations beyond traditional brick and stone masonry, including chimney, hearth, venting, and related residential service work. Responsibilities The Working Foreman will be expected to: Lead and work alongside a field crew on residential masonry, chimney, and installation projects Perform brick, block, and stone repair of all types Handle chimney masonry repair, rebuilding, restoration, tuckpointing, mortar repair, crown repair, and related exterior work Assist with some new brick and stone construction Complete installation work related to chimney, hearth, venting, and home safety systems Set the pace for quality, safety, productivity, and professionalism on the job site Assign tasks, guide crew members, and help train less-experienced employees Communicate clearly with management, office staff, crew members, and customers when needed Use basic computer, tablet, or phone-based systems for job notes, photos, reports, scheduling, time tracking, and communication Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites Ensure tools, materials, vehicles, and safety equipment are used and cared for properly Follow company procedures, safety standards, and job specifications Required Qualifications Applicants must have: Minimum 2 years of journeyman-level masonry experience Hands-on experience with brick and stone work of all types , especially repair work Ability and willingness to work as a hands-on foreman, not just supervise Leadership skills and the ability to direct a small crew Basic computer, tablet, smartphone, and communication skills Ability to document work with notes, photos, and job updates Comfort and proven ability working safely at height Experience using scaffolding, ladders, roof access, and fall-protection equipment Strong team-player attitude Reliable attendance and professional work habits Ability to follow and enforce safety procedures and job-site standards Current driver's license —

Preferred Experience Additional experience in any of the following areas is helpful: Previous foreman, lead technician, or crew leader experience Chimney repair or chimney rebuilding Fireplace, stove, liner, cap, damper, or venting installations General construction, roofing, flashing, waterproofing, or exterior repair work Residential service work Customer-facing field experience Experience using job-management software, tablets, email, digital forms, or photo documentation Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Work outdoors in various weather conditions Lift, carry, and move masonry materials, tools, and equipment Climb ladders and work on roofs or scaffolding Stand, bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical labor throughout the workday Work safely while wearing and using required safety equipment Lead by example in physically demanding field conditions Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a skilled craftsperson and leader who takes pride in quality work.
