Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mason to join our up and coming construction team in Lackawanna. As a Mason, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using various masonry techniques. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of durable, aesthetically pleasing buildings and surfaces, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship on every project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new constructions to renovations and restorations, utilizing your technical skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute masonry projects. Install rebar reinforcement to strengthen structures according to specifications. Lay bricks, blocks, stone, with precision to achieve desired patterns and finishes. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and installing masonry materials. Assist in setting up and taking down scaffolding when necessary for larger projects. Read and follow blueprints or schematics accurately to ensure project specifications are met. Collaborate with other construction professionals like carpenters, plumbers, and electricians to complete projects seamlessly. Requirements Proven experience in construction or masonry work with a strong understanding of brick, block or stone installation. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers, saws; as well as power tools like drills and grinders. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently. Experience with renovation projects including restoration work such as repointing stone and chimneys Familiarity with safety protocols on construction sites to ensure a secure working environment. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills. Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when necessary.
