Job Description

Ohio Chimney Co is looking to add another mason to round out our repair crews. We've been a family owned business since 1981, and the current owner is a third generation mason and certified chimney sweep! We are looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our team and provide excellent service to our amazing customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking direction from the general manager or their crew leader and executing the daily needed tasks at their assigned repair job. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail. We would prefer a candidate who has a background in masonry. The candidate must be receptive to constructive feedback and be coachable, as this industry is highly specialized and requires specific terminology, knowledge, and execution in the field. Above all, you must have a great work ethic and sense of humor. We love to have a good time while getting our work done.
Potential responsibilities:
Perform chimney repairs, rebuilds, restorations, and demolitions with a strong focus on quality craftsmanship and safety Complete a wide variety of masonry work including repointing, crown repairs, firebox repairs, smoke chamber repairs, stone application, and full chimney rebuilds in both brick and block Install and/or repair chimney liners, caps, flashing, and related chimney system components Follow company SOPs, safety guidelines, and industry regulations to complete projects efficiently and professionally Read and follow work orders, job specifications, and on-the-job training (OJT) objectives with attention to detail Assist with and complete projects involving tear-downs, rebuilds, rip-and-replace jobs, and appliance installations for wood, gas, pellet, propane, and electric systems Build, use, and tear down scaffolding safely and properly for all projects Perform roofing and flashing work related to chimney repairs and waterproofing Communicate professionally with customers and provide recommendations regarding chimney, appliance, and flue safety when needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site and company vehicle Demonstrate a willingness to learn all aspects of the chimney and venting industry Participate in ongoing training and continuing education opportunities, including potential for attaining industry certifications Work collaboratively with crew members and management to complete projects on schedule Willingness to wear many hats and learn more about this specialized industry Any other duties as assigned by management! Relevant previous experience includes, but is not limited to: Experience in masonry (required) Experience in an HVAC/plumbing/electric/roofing/related trade environment Leadership in a trades environment
Qualifications:
High School Diploma Valid Driver's License (required) Good Verbal Communication Good Physical Health able to lift 80lbs
