MUST UPLOAD TX DRIVERS LICENSE
REQUIRED:
One year of related experience. A valid Texas Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
SUMMARY:
Performs general maintenance work relating to masonry, brick laying, and general concrete work in regards to general maintenance work and construction projects district wide.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge of the masonry and concrete work; ability to perform work with competence and thoroughness. Assists in pouring concrete and laying down steel reinforcing materials in foundation and sidewalk forms; performs concrete finish work. Assists the Brick Layer/Masonry to erect concrete block units and brick laying work. Assists in placing ceramic tile on floors and walls when required. Demonstrates good craftsmanship and quality work. Assists in studying, reading and comprehending blueprints, and understanding basic mathematic principles. Demonstrate knowledge of tools of the trade and masonry, bricklaying and concrete work practices. Strives to promote the safety, health and comfort of students and employees in performance of work. Drives District vehicles to and from work site; obeys traffic laws. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required. Position may require overtime and will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty as necessary to maintain function of District facilities. Must perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance preventions before and after trips. Performs any other maintenance trades duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director.
