Mason Tender/Apprentice

Job Summary I am seeking a mason tender/apprentice/laborer to assist my small masonry company specializing in fireplace builds and stone and brick work. The position will consist of many different tasks that involve morter and trowel skills, setting up scaffolding, working well with others, heavy lifting at times, driving heavy equipment, and using power tools. Experience is good, but definitely willing to train the right person who is dependable, wants to learn, and has a good attitude. The job has many commitments to nice, fun projects in the future. This is a good career and environment for someone who would like to learn. Responsibilities Assist masons in preparing and mixing mortar, concrete, and other materials for masonry work. Set up scaffolding and ensure that work areas are safe, clean, and organized. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively, including saws, drills, and mixers. Help with the installation of rebar, stucco, tile laying, and other masonry components as directed. Participate in heavy equipment operation when necessary for site preparation or material movement. Various activities depending on the job. Qualifications Previous experience in construction or masonry is not required; training will be provided. Experience using hand tools and power tools safely in a construction setting is preferred, but teachable. Strong physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods while lifting heavy materials (over 50 pounds).
