Job Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.
Summary:
The Carpenter II performs all aspects of carpentry work required in the maintenance and construction of plant production facilities, office buildings, and equipment in various locations including Alaska.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate wood working tools and all common hand tools to cut, form, and finish material for the construction or demolition of an assigned project. Framing walls, installing doors, windows and ventilation. Repair or refinish walls or structures. Maintain and operate a safe work environment, instruct others on the safe operation of tools and equipment. Install wood, metal or other construction materials in an industrial facility. Installation of typical appliances and related connections and services. Install or dismantle roofing or siding. Mix, pour and float concrete, assemble/disassemble forms. Prepare and assemble scaffolding as directed. Crate machinery and other equipment for shipment. May work as part of a mechanics team in semi-annual overhaul programs or special projects. Install multiple flooring surfaces including tile, vinyl, laminate and others Operates various types of construction equipment and machinery. Understand and able to implement safe work procedures. Supervise and direct other maintenance and construction employees
Additional Responsibilities:
Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings. Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs) A minimum of 6 years of experience in carpentry or construction. HS Diploma or equivalent. Experience with concrete forming and slab construction OSHA 10 Certified
HAZWOPER
certified Preferred education and experience Carpentry experience Installing tile, windows, doors, sub-floors Plumbing experience Ability to operate heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes and mixers machines preferred. Work environment (includes travel/on-call): While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
