Tuskegee, AL Pay Rate:
$22.09/hour We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to support facility operations at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System. This full-time role may work at either the Montgomery or Tuskegee campus based on operational needs.
Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, construct, install, repair, and modify wood or wood substitute materials. Build and repair frameworks, rafters, walls, staircases, windows, trim, cabinets, trusses, and beams. Perform drywall, concrete form, roof decking, interior and exterior trim, and finished paneling work. Use general and precision woodworking techniques to plan and complete projects independently. Support metal framing for walls and drop ceilings, along with basic concrete and masonry work.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of documented carpentry experience required. Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally, work at heights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Must provide and use basic hand tools and wear OSHA-compliant PPE, including steel-toe boots. OSHA 30-hour construction training required.
