Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Project Manager and/or Superintendent to ensure jobs are successful and on schedule. Responsible for leading crew efficiently to meet project budget and profitability. Prioritize tasks. Maintain a good attitude. Work with Project Manager and/or Superintendent to schedule and hold pre-construction and regular progress meetings. Knowledge of field change orders, daily reports, and project schedules. Knowledge of ADA requirements. Assess competency and capability of field technicians, subcontractors and trades persons; evaluate crew capability; train and coach to ensure that the crew meets required levels of quality. Communicate the job to the field technicians, subcontractors, and tradespersons. Assist the Field Operations Manager in recognizing, addressing, and resolving issues/problems among/between his/ her crew. Set and maintain work standards and ensure crew morale and productivity. Ensure crew compliance with company policies and project procedures. Mentor employees. Use variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, and power tools in conjunction with proper training. Responsible for company-provided tools and equipment. Prepare daily timesheets. Perform basic jobsite safety audits. Review and sign off on Pre-Task Plans (PTPs). Participate in completion of PTPs and mentor employees on completing PTPs. Maintain safety barricades, signages, etc. Review scope of work with Project Engineer, Project Manager, and/or General Foreman prior to starting work. Prepare basic material take-offs for material ordering. Schedule material and equipment to be delivered prior to starting work. Call off rented equipment. Coordinate, direct, and oversee daily work tasks for crew members. When directed, complete Time and Material sheets and get the necessary signatures. Read and understand of drawings and specification. Review progress of work and ensure that work is per plans and specifications. Check quality of work. Check equipment operating training certifications. Hold weekly tool-box talk meetings. Ensure crew is participating in shift-prep in the morning and after lunch. Know drywall finishes. Know hoisting hand signals. Layout and survey. Inventory incoming/outgoing materials and equipment. Build and maintain temporary ICRA walls. Oversee demolition, sequence and safety. Other duties, as assigned. Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays. Employee will be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards Act.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent desired, and 2 or 3 years' experience of skilled carpentry work. Favorable driver's record/valid license. OSHA 30 required. Skilled in reading, writing, and math. Skilled in the use of carpentry power and hand tools. Ability to read blueprints. Skilled in interpersonal communication and knowledge of architectural applications Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Knowledge of methods and techniques of performing skilled carpentry work including mill and cabinetwork. Methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials, and supplies. Principles and procedures of record keeping. Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulation. Ability to prepare labor and material estimates. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices. Accuracy, detail oriented, organized, reliability, responsible, safety awareness, accountability, ambition, active listening, applied learning, conflict resolution, customer oriented, decision making. Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing.
