Job Title:
Exterior Wood Specialist - Buena Park Job Description This role focuses on exterior refurbishment work at a residential complex, including patching stucco, replacing damaged wood components, and performing light painting. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to restore exterior surfaces and ensure they are safe, durable, and visually appealing. Responsibilities Patch and repair exterior stucco surfaces to restore structural integrity and appearance. Remove and replace damaged or deteriorated exterior wood components as needed. Perform light painting on repaired or replaced surfaces to achieve a clean, finished look. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for wood and stucco repair tasks. Measure materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure precise cuts and fits. Assist with rough carpentry tasks, including framing, bracing, and basic structural repairs. Support finish carpentry work such as trimming, fitting, and installing wood elements for a polished final appearance. Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as required. Handle cabinetry-related repairs or adjustments when needed as part of apartment refurbishments. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and store them safely after use. Work in teams of two to refurbish vacant apartments efficiently and within scheduled timelines. Follow safety guidelines and site procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and complete daily work assignments. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with stucco repair and patching on exterior surfaces. Carpentry skills, including both rough carpentry and finish carpentry tasks. Proficiency using hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, and tape measures. Proficiency using power tools such as drills, saws, and other carpentry-related equipment. Experience with wood and stucco repairs, including removal and replacement of damaged materials. Ability to perform paint preparation, including sanding, masking, and priming surfaces. Capability to handle cabinetry-related tasks as part of refurbishment work. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for precise measurements. Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to follow directions and safety procedures. Willingness to learn new skills and maintain a positive, cooperative attitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in exterior building maintenance or apartment refurbishment. Experience in finish carpentry, including detailed trim and finish work. Familiarity with both wood and stucco-specific tools and repair techniques. Comfort working with hand and power tools for extended periods. Interest in developing broader carpentry and maintenance skills through on-the-job training. Work Environment This is a first-shift role, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will work in teams of two, refurbishing vacant apartments within a residential complex, with a primary focus on exterior wood and stucco repairs and related tasks. The work is hands-on and performed on-site, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and wood and stucco-specific equipment. The environment requires adherence to safety practices and may involve working outdoors around building exteriors as well as inside vacant units during refurbishment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buena Park, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
