Lead Finish Carpenter / Trim & Paint Specialist Job OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented Finish Carpenter and Finisher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the final, highest-visibility details of our construction and renovation projects across the Central Valley . The ideal candidate has an elite eye for precision, mastering everything from complex crown molding and baseboard installation to flawless paint cutting. Location & TravelThis position services projects across the Central Valley. Candidates must be willing to travel to job sites throughout the following counties:
Higher starting rate negotiable for candidates with verifiable skills or licenses in Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC .
Key Responsibilities Trim & Molding Installation:
Cut, fit, and install high-end baseboards, crown molding, casing, and custom trim. Execute flawless compound miter cuts and coped joints.
Precision Painting:
"Cut in" paint along ceilings, trim, and baseboards with a rock-steady hand and sharp lines.
Surface Preparation:
Perform meticulous sanding, filling, patching, and priming to ensure surfaces are perfectly prepped for final coats.
Scribing & Troubleshooting:
Scribe and shim materials to make crooked walls or uneven floors look perfectly square and straight. Cross-Trade Support (Optional Bonus): Assist with basic electrical, plumbing, or HVAC troubleshooting and installations as needed to keep projects moving forward efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in finish carpentry, trim installation, and high-end painting.
Travel Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to travel across the designated Central Valley counties.
Technical Mastery:
Deep knowledge of compound miter saws, coping saws, pneumatic trim guns, and specialized hand tools.
Bonus Skills:
Knowledge or certifications in electrical wiring, plumbing rough-ins/fixtures, or HVAC systems is a major plus and will command a higher wage.
Attributes:
Exceptional eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a reputation for clean, efficient work.
Tools:
Must possess and maintain your own high-quality finish carpentry and painting hand tools.
