Job Description
We are a general contractor specializing in commercial and industrial tenant improvements, remodels, renovations, and general construction. Many of our projects are performed inside medical facilities, corporate offices, and other active commercial environments where professionalism, cleanliness, and attention to detail are essential. We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter for a permanent, full-time position. We need someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, works efficiently, and can complete assigned work independently or as part of a project team. About the Position This is a hands-on field position involving rough and finish carpentry along with other general tenant-improvement work. The selected applicant must be comfortable working in fast-paced commercial environments and coordinating with company employees, subcontractors, clients, and building representatives. Primary Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and field measurements Perform rough and finish carpentry for commercial construction projects Install and adjust doors, frames, hardware, cabinets, trim, and other finished components Complete framing, blocking, backing, and general structural carpentry work Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials accurately Assist with flooring, tile, siding, roofing, and other tenant-improvement work when needed Identify field issues and communicate possible solutions before they delay the project Coordinate work with other trades and subcontractors Safely load, move, and handle construction materials Protect existing finishes and occupied areas during construction Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional jobsite Complete punch-list work, adjustments, and repairs as assigned Required Experience and Qualifications Previous professional experience as a commercial carpenter or in a comparable construction role Strong knowledge of commercial carpentry methods, materials, tools, and safety practices Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents Experience with door hanging, cabinet installation, trim work, framing, and general tenant improvements Ability to measure and complete work accurately with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and productively alongside other trades Reliable, punctual, and able to communicate clearly Physically able to lift and move construction materials and remain active throughout the workday Must have personal carpentry and construction tools Must have reliable transportation to and from different project locations Professionalism and Cleanliness Because much of our work is completed inside active medical buildings and corporate offices, employees must maintain a clean and professional appearance and communicate respectfully with clients, occupants, subcontractors, and team members. The selected applicant must protect surrounding areas, control construction debris, and leave each jobsite clean and organized at the end of every shift. Schedule This is a full-time, permanent position. Work is generally performed during regular daytime hours, but schedules may vary depending on project requirements and client needs. Some projects may require overnight, weekend, or after-hours work.
