Job Description
Form Carpenter Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Form Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures in various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, carpentry skills, and formwork construction techniques to ensure the safety, accuracy, and quality of the finished structures. The Form Carpenter will work closely with project managers and other trades to deliver precise and durable forms that meet project specifications. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to determine formwork requirements and specifications. Construct, assemble, and install formwork using various carpentry tools and materials, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards. Construct formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams, and other structural elements. Dismantle formwork after concrete has set, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage or injury. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Inspect formwork regularly for defects or issues that could compromise the structure's safety or quality. Requirements Proven experience in carpentry with a focus on formwork construction preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints accurately. Strong knowledge of formwork construction techniques and materials used in concrete forming. Excellent carpentry skills including measuring, cutting, assembling, and fastening materials. Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environmental conditions. Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards on all job sites. Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
