Mark Scott Construction, Inc. is hiring Carpenters to join our team! We are a well-established general contractor with a strong reputation for quality work in residential and commercial construction , including new builds, remodels, and insurance restoration projects . We are seeking hands-on carpenters with the skills to finish projects. Responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks related to residential and/or commercial construction and remodeling projects. This position requires proficiency in framing, finish carpentry, repairs, and installation work while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards. The General Carpenter works independently or as part of a team to complete projects on time and according to company specifications. Projects are located throughout the Bay Area , with our home office based in Pleasant Hill .
Responsibilities:
Perform general carpentry tasks including framing, drywall installation, trim work, cabinetry, and finish carpentry. Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials according to project plans and specifications. Install doors, windows, baseboards, crown molding, cabinets, and other fixtures. Repair damaged structures and fixtures, including walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs. Assist with demolition, layout, and preparation of work areas. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders. Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations. Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness. Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding project progress and material needs. Identify and report safety hazards or project issues promptly. Provide high-quality workmanship while meeting project deadlines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1-3 years of carpentry or construction experience preferred. Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods. Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools. Ability to read measuring tools and perform basic math calculations. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50-75 pounds and perform physical labor for extended periods. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
