45-65/hour, based on experience Alder Construction is looking for an experienced Carpenter Foreman / Lead Carpenter to run day-to-day field operations on high-end residential remodels and custom homes throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area. This is a hands-on leadership position . We are looking for someone who can manage a jobsite and coordinate other trades while also being capable of performing high-quality carpentry and solving construction problems in the field.
Responsibilities:
Lead carpenters, laborers, and day-to-day jobsite operations Coordinate subcontractors and ensure work is properly sequenced Read and understand architectural, structural, and construction plans Plan daily and weekly work and keep projects moving efficiently Perform and oversee framing, finish carpentry, doors/windows, hardware, and general carpentry Layout work accurately from plans and field conditions Verify subcontractor and employee work for quality and completeness Coordinate materials, deliveries, equipment, and jobsite needs Identify conflicts or missing information before they affect the schedule Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, upcoming work, and field issues Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe jobsite Coordinate inspections and prepare work for inspection Manage punch-list items and project closeout Take ownership of the jobsite and maintain Alder Construction's quality standards
Requirements:
7+ years of residential construction experience preferred Previous experience as a Lead Carpenter, Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership position Strong carpentry background, including both framing and finish carpentry Experience with high-end residential remodels and custom homes strongly preferred Ability to read plans is a plus Strong understanding of construction sequencing and residential building practices Ability to lead employees and coordinate subcontractors professionally Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Must be comfortable being both a working carpenter and field leader Basic carpentry tools and reliable transportation required Dependable, professional, and capable of taking ownership of a project Bilingual in Spanish is a plus If interested, please email
