Hourly Rate Job Description Summary:
The Concrete Carpenter is responsible for constructing, assembling, and dismantling forms used for pouring concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, and slabs. This role requires skill in measuring, cutting, and installing formwork, as well as placing and finishing concrete. The ideal candidate has experience reading blueprints, working with hand and power tools, and following safety protocols on commercial construction sites.
Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and project specifications. Construct, assemble, and dismantle wood and metal forms for concrete placement. Set forms for walls, columns, footings, and slabs using proper bracing and alignment techniques. Place embedded materials such as anchor bolts, rebar, or sleeves as required. Assist with placing and finishing concrete when needed. Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as saws, drills, levels, and hammers. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Work closely with laborers, finishers, and supervisors to meet project deadlines. Perform layout and measurement work to ensure accuracy and compliance. Participate in jobsite cleanup and material handling.
Skills or Experience Requirements:
Must hold a current Journeyman Carpenter license/certificate (if required by the applicable state, city or county) Minimum of 1 year of experience as a journeyman carpenter or similar role Display hand-to-eye coordination, mathematical skills, strength and stamina Lift and/or pull 50lbs., climb ladders, work off ladders, man lifts or other equipment Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, fully squat, bend or kneel while wearing a tool belt Capable of working in a variety of weather conditions Uphold Swinerton Core Values of Integrity, Leadership, Passion and Excellence at all times Adhere to all OSHA and Swinerton safety practices and procedures
