Position Summary Voyager Technologies is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Carpenter to join our Facilities & Operations team. In this role, you will perform a broad range of carpentry, repair, and maintenance tasks across our facilities - including government and commercial properties. You will be responsible for ensuring that structures, fixtures, and interior finishes are maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Carpentry & Construction- Construct, install, and repair structural and finish carpentry including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, frames, moldings, cabinets, and shelving.
- Build and install partitions, furring strips, stud framing, and drop ceilings in both new construction and retrofit environments.
- Perform rough carpentry including framing, sheathing, and blocking in support of building renovation projects.
- Fabricate custom woodwork and fixtures using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of doors, windows, hardware, and structural elements; identify and address deficiencies.
- Repair or replace damaged drywall, tile, flooring, trim, and other interior finishes.
- Maintain and adjust door hardware including hinges, closers, locksets, and weatherstripping.
- Respond to work orders and facilities requests in a timely, professional manner. Perform other job duties assigned to support operational needs. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, OSHA standards, and facility safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area; properly store tools, materials, and equipment.
- Support coordination with subcontractors, engineers, and project managers on renovation and improvement projects.
- Complete documentation for work orders, material usage, and as-completed records. Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of journeyman-level carpentry or construction maintenance experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment (saws, drills, nail guns, sanders, levels, etc.).
- Experience in both rough and finish carpentry including framing, drywall, millwork, and cabinetry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and work order specifications.
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes, fire egress requirements, and OSHA safety standards.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to travel between facility sites as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work at heights on ladders and scaffold, and perform physically demanding tasks. Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent trade credential.
- Experience in facilities maintenance for government, defense, or commercial properties.
- Familiarity with ADA compliance requirements and accessibility modifications.
- Basic knowledge of related trades (plumbing rough-in, electrical rough-in, HVAC support) to coordinate work efficiently.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order platforms.
