This role is ideal for a hands-on maker with an eye for detail and a passion for building custom-designed props, scenic elements, and event décor. As a key team member, you'll collaborate with our designer and production manager and other fabricators to bring creative concepts to life from sketches and renderings to real-world installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Build custom props, event furniture, and scenic elements based on design specifications Work with wood, foam, acrylic, and other materials to create high-quality finished pieces Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment (table saws, routers, sanders, etc.) Read and interpret design drawings, renderings, and build specs Collaborate with team members on creative problem-solving and fabrication techniques Participate in load-ins, on-site installations, and breakdowns as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in carpentry, scenic construction, or a related field Proficient in woodworking techniques and power tools Ability to read drawings and translate design intent into physical form Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods Flexible schedule and willingness to work occasional nights/weekends for event installs Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in event production, theater set design, or scenic fabrication Knowledge of materials such as MDF, PVC, foam, fabrics, and finishes Familiarity with CNC machines, laser cutters, or 3D printing (a plus, but not required)
