Stair Construction Location:
Palm Beach County, FL Job Type:
Full‑time Overview We are seeking a skilled Carpenter with experience in stair construction, installation, and finishing . This role focuses exclusively on building and installing interior and exterior stair systems, including wood, metal, and hybrid structures. You will work on residential and commercial projects, producing high‑quality staircases with precision, safety, and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Build and install staircases including treads, risers, stringers, landings, railings, and balusters. Cut, shape, and assemble wood components using professional carpentry tools and equipment. Install metal balusters, brackets, and hardware with accuracy and clean finish. Read and interpret construction plans, measurements, and layout specifications. Perform precise leveling, squaring, and alignment to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic quality. Conduct job‑site preparation including material staging, measurements, and layout marking. Safely operate saws, drills, sanders, routers, and other carpentry tools. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols. Perform demolition of old staircases when required and prepare surfaces for new installation. Requirements Proven carpentry experience, preferably in stair building or finish carpentry. Strong understanding of measurements, angles, and layout techniques. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in Florida outdoor conditions when needed. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools. Ability to read blueprints or willingness to learn. Reliable transportation and punctual work habits. Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality craftsmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills (Not Required) Experience with metal stringers or metal stair components. Welding experience or certification (AWS or equivalent). Experience installing custom railings or specialty stair systems. Finish carpentry skills (trim, molding, sanding, staining).
