Job Description

Jon Richards Company is a custom fabrication shop specializing in sets, props, signage, and themed environments for major entertainment clients. We are seeking skilled Finish Carpenters / Scenic Carpenters with a strong eye for detail and craftsmanship. This is not rough framing—our work requires precision, clean finishes, and high-quality craftsmanship. Thursday:
7:00 AM - 5:45 PM (4x10 schedule)
Fridays:
Overtime as required What You'll Do Build and assemble custom scenic elements, cabinetry, and architectural features Work with a variety of materials including: Hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, MDF Plastics, laminates, solid surfaces, and foam Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings Create cut lists and execute precise layouts Perform finish carpentry with strong attention to fit, alignment, and detail Collaborate with project managers and other trades to meet deadlines Tools & Equipment You should be comfortable using: Table saw, band saw, miter saws Routers, jig saws, drills Nailers/staplers Tape measure and layout tools What We're Looking For Experience in finish carpentry, cabinetry, or scenic fabrication Ability to read a tape measure and perform accurate layouts Strong understanding of joinery and clean construction methods Attention to detail and pride in your work Ability to work safely and efficiently in a shop environment Hiring Process Candidates will complete a 20-question shop test Practical experience and skill level will be evaluated Why Join Us Work on unique, high-profile themed projects (not repetitive work) Join a team of skilled craftsmen in a fast-paced environment Opportunities for growth and advancement

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
