The Role DanceOne is seeking a skilled and dependable Stage Carpenter to join our Production and Warehouse team. This hands-on role is responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing custom scenic elements, stage components, flight cases, and event infrastructure used throughout our nationwide event operations. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Stage Carpenter will play a critical role in ensuring all production assets are built to specification, maintained to professional standards, and ready for deployment. This position requires strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Build, fabricate, repair, and maintain custom stage and scenic elements. Construct and modify flight cases and storage solutions for touring production equipment. Operate woodworking, metalworking, and fabrication tools safely and efficiently. Manage and maintain shop tools, equipment, and workspaces. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on shop equipment. Read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and construction specifications. Accurately work with both Imperial and Metric measurement systems. Assist with loading, unloading, organizing, and inventory management of production assets. Collaborate with warehouse, production, and operations teams to support event preparation and logistics. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and equipment operating guidelines. Qualifications Previous experience as a carpenter, stage carpenter, scenic carpenter, fabricator, or related trade. Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, construction methods, and fabrication practices. Proficiency using power tools, hand tools, saws, drills, routers, sanders, and other shop equipment. Ability to read and work from plans, drawings, and technical specifications. Fluent in both Metric and Imperial measurements. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable lifting and moving materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Forklift certification or experience is a plus. Experience in live events, entertainment production, touring, or theatrical environments is preferred but not required. What Success Looks Like Production assets are built accurately, safely, and on schedule. Shop equipment is maintained and organized. Flight cases and scenic elements are durable, functional, and event-ready. Safety standards are consistently upheld. Warehouse and production teams can rely on timely execution and high-quality workmanship.
