Job Description

Skillforce is currently searching for reliable and safety-oriented Carpenters for various projects across the Clinton, IA area. As a Carpenter you would work to install structures and fixtures, construct building frameworks, and lead laborers and other construction helpers to complete work. An ideal candidate would have excellent multitasking and problem-solving capabilities. The Carpenter role also requires collaboration with managers, laborers and clients throughout the project process to ensure deadlines and expectations are met for both the company and the customer. The pay range for this position is $25.00/hour up to $30.00/hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities include:
Following blueprints and building plans to meet client needs Install structures and fixtures such as windows, molding, and cabinets Measure, cut, and/or shape wood, plastic and other materials Construct building frameworks, including floors, walls, trusses, and door frames Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes Collaborate with or direct laborers and other construction helpers
Requirements:
High school diploma, or equivalent A minimum of 5-years experience and/or training in construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals, project plans and specifications Ability to perform math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fraction and decimals Valid driver s license
