We are modernizing wood framing through technology, engineering precision, and lean field execution. Every project we frame is designed in a 3D Building Information Model (BIM) and delivered directly to our field teams for precision assembly. We replace tape measures with robotic total stations (Botmark) and eliminate jobsite guesswork with pre-cut component packages and structured assembly workflows. We are expanding rapidly into the Omaha, Nebraska market and are looking for a driven, tech-forward Framing Foreman based in Des Moines who will spend six months mastering our system in Central Iowa before relocating to lead our field operations in Omaha. Position Overview During your first six months in the Des Moines market, you will work alongside our leadership team, project managers, and BIM designers to learn every facet of the Straight Up Framing system. You will master our Botmark robotic total station layout process, material packaging workflows, and subcontractor management standards. Following this training period, you will permanently relocate to the Omaha metro to take full operational ownership of our field production, oversee framing crews for established builder partners, represent the company with local building inspectors, and help cultivate relationships with new builders across Eastern Nebraska.
Key Responsibilities Robotic Foundation Layout & BIM Execution:
Conduct digital foundation surveys and complete site framing layouts using the Botmark Robotic Total Station prior to framing crew arrival.
Pre-Construction & Kick-Off Coordination:
Attend project kickoff meetings with the design and BIM teams; review structural prints, specs, and field data; and coordinate delivery timelines with our Ames logistics center.
Material & Package Quality Control:
Verify delivered plate packs, loose lumber, truss packages, and hardware against BIM package reports and invoices; manage inventory forms on Workyard.
Subcontractor Management & Field QA:
Conduct daily crew walkthroughs, provide assembly support, resolve structural clashes in real-time, and ensure strict adherence to framing schedules and safety protocols.
Inspections & Builder Sign-Offs:
Lead window and door mock-up approvals with general contractor superintendents; schedule and walk municipal and 3rd-party inspections; perform multi-stage punch lists; and secure final framing sign-offs.
Market Ambassadorship & Growth:
Build strong, professional relationships with local Omaha general contractors, superintendents, and building departments; serve as the on-site face of Straight Up Framing and support new builder acquisition in the Omaha market.
Equipment & Asset Stewardship:
Oversee scheduled maintenance and inspections on company trucks and telehandlers/forklifts following company SOPs.
Qualifications & Experience Field Framing Experience:
3+ years of hands-on rough carpentry/wood framing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a lead carpenter, crew leader, or assistant foreman capacity.
Time Management & Self-Motivation:
Exceptional autonomy, self-direction, and ability to manage multiple job sites across a metro area without direct daily oversight.
Technology & Detail Aptitude:
Highly comfortable utilizing mobile construction apps (Workyard, cloud drives, digital plans), tablets, and learning robotic layout systems (Botmark).
Communication & Professionalism:
Confident interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with builders, municipal building officials, and framing trade partners. Commitment to

Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass pre-employment background/drug screening.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
