Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Framer Carpenter Laborer and be a vital part of building durable, high-quality structures! In this energetic role, you'll assist in framing, building erection, and various carpentry tasks that bring architectural visions to life. Your hands-on skills and enthusiasm will contribute to efficient project completion while gaining valuable experience in the construction industry. Duties Assist with framing projects, including frame carpentry, rough carpentry to ensure precise structural assembly. building erection according to drawings Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and basic machinery safely and effectively on-site. Read blueprints, construction plans, schematics, and interpret technical drawings for accurate measurements and assembly. Perform siding installation, roofing support, asphalt & metal roof installation is a plus Conduct dimensional measurements using tape measures and other tools to ensure accuracy in all carpentry activities. Assist with demolition, restoration projects, remodeling efforts, and siding work as needed on various construction sites. Support site safety protocols through heavy lifting, proper tool handling, and adherence to safety guidelines during all activities. Must be willing to travel within a one hour distance of Iowa city, Iowa. Must have reliable vehicle and own reliable hand tools, including framing gun, air hose, and small compressor plus handsaw, harness and staple gun. bilingual is a plus Certifications are a plus Qualifications Previous construction site experience with exposure to framing, siding, roofing or related trades preferred. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and other basic construction equipment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in physically demanding environments. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for accurate framing and layout work. Familiarity with building erection, techniques, and installation is a plus. Experience operating heavy equipment or working with construction management teams is advantageous but not required.
