Hiring Carpenter Job Description We are seeking a skilled generalist in all trades who can troubleshoot and repair a wide range of appliances and fixtures. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of electric, natural gas, and plumbing systems, as well as carpentry, drywall, and painting. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair common problems in dishwashers, fridges, clothes washers, dryers, disposals, microwaves, stoves, and water heaters. Troubleshoot plumbing issues, including clogs and leaks, and perform repairs or replacements as necessary. Identify and replace malfunctioning components within plumbing fixtures, and swap fixtures like toilets, faucets, disposals, and shower components. Install valves and fittings in copper, PVC, and galvanized materials for supply and DWV systems. Perform electrical work, including swapping fixtures, switches, and outlets, and navigating breaker boxes. Conduct carpentry work, including framing, finish/trim work, stair repair, and cabinet installation and repair. Hang, tape, and finish drywall; patch plaster and drywall walls; prime and paint surfaces; and apply caulking. Troubleshoot leaks from dry evidence and stains on surfaces. Repair door hardware, adjust doors for proper closing, and apply weatherstripping. Identify improper installations and common trouble spots across various trades. Install fixtures like TP holders and towel holders securely to accommodate dynamic use. Provide excellent customer service by maintaining minimal disruption of occupied spaces and explaining work processes in layman's terms. Essential Skills Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, and general handyman repairs. Ability to read a tape measure and operate tools like tablesaws, circular saws, and chop saws. Strong troubleshooting skills across various trades. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with general installation standards. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lift over 60 pounds and endure physically demanding tasks such as crouching, kneeling, and standing all day. Why Work Here?
